Yes, this site's idea is inspired by what Diskprices is doing. But, none of the code from their website, if any, was copied for this project. The aim is to provide a bit more data for users to find the most suitable storage device. Here are some features that we provide other than what Diskprices does:-

All product links on the website are affiliate links, meaning for every successful purchase made with these links, I earn a commission. But, this doesn't affect the price you get the product for. These earnings will help me keep this project alive and bring more projects.

It's virtually impossible to be sifting through tons of products on Amazon and adding them manually to our table. So, we do rely on Amazon's Product API (PAAPI) to get product information and update prices. As for accuracy, some listings on Amazon have wrong information. Our automated script tries its best to filter out erroneous results or results with questionable information. Only products with a minimum star rating of 3 are added to the list. Moreover, we from time to time sift through questionable data and fix the results. We also take help from users to fix these. For that purpose, every product comes with a report link using which users can report products with wrong information. That being said, we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the product listing. Please verify on the product page before buying. As for the prices, price per TB and price per GB may have been rounded off to the nearest 3 digits.

We only use Amazon's PAAPI on the website. For price history, we are maintaining data on our own. This will be better for us in the long run. We won't have to worry about APIs going down or suddenly becoming a charged service, for example.

We try to add new products every week and the prices of existing products is updated every 24 hours (will be brought down as our userbase expands). That being said, Amazon's API has certain request limits that do get in the way of regular updates. So, at times, price updates may be delayed. But, don't worry, even if one update is missed, it's soon covered in the next update.

All you have to do is click on the Set alert button next to your product. Set your desired price and email address and click on Submit. When the price drops to your desired value or lower, we will send an email to you with the details. For example, if you set an alert for an internal HDD currently priced at $55.95, with a desired price of $45, then, as soon as the price drops to $45 or lower (for example, even $44.99), you will receive an alert on your email.

It's a lesser known fact that most storage device companies are actually owned by the big two - Western Digital and Seagate. So, some HGST products may show up when you choose the brand filter for Western Digital, or LaCie products might show up when you choose Seagate.

If you find that a product is missing from our catalog, just send us its Amazon link through the Contact page. After verifying, we will add the product with its details manually to the table, post which its price will be automatically updated.

Depending on the demand and requests, we will be adding more countries supported by Amazon API to the list.

You see this error because your IP was blacklisted by many blocklists online. This could be because your IP has been used previously used for scam, spam, abuse or fraud. This is problematic for us, since we are trying to avoid scrapers. But, this is also an issue because some NAT-based ISPs allocate the same IP address to multiple users. So, you might be getting penalised for no apparent fault of yours. If you believe that's the case, you can contact us with your IP address. Also, for the time being, try another device or even your mobile data.

We are still testing out some features of the website. These have been thoroughly tested to cover almost every contingency, but, a little bit of debugging must be done when live. The website and its features are ready for use. We will be looking to improve things from time to time. During beta testing, we might have to clear product information, price alerts, price history, etc. So, please bear with us. Once we have it all sorted out, the Beta sign will be removed.
